KC, the cat

Last winter, my mother-in-law, my father-in-law and one of my brother-in-laws went to Florida to escape from snow and maybe to do some other works over there. Fortunately, my brother-in-law left us his cat to baby sit with. My husband and I love animals and so for us, it is a blessing to have a cat in our house for those moments. The cat was named KC or maybe short for Kitty Cat but she was so disciplined that we do not have to worry about anything. Well, except for cleaning his litter box and feeding him but other than that, we enjoyed having him in our house.

Not all cat is like KC. Some has a lot of problems that just caused headache in the house specially in the areas where they love to stay. Of course that is our floors or our carpet. If you can’t clean it right away, it will cause problem to everybody specially if you have kids in the house. That is a big headache. Or maybe if we clean it ourselves, we really don’t clean it…I mean clean as in odorless free and bacteria free but just clean visible in our naked eye. You see, there is a danger of not cleaning it completely. First there will be a bacteria growth which will harm kids… then will turn to odor that will make discoloration of our carpet….a big mess.

I'm so glad I came across those Clear tv bundle specialslast month since I'm now able to watch reruns of my favorite show, Friends, whenever I want. Before I got the bundle, I didn't have TBS which is the network Friends is shown on most often. I was spending a lot of money at Blockbuster renting the different seasons of friends, especially since the seasons were broken up into three or four DVDs each. At five dollars a pop, that it's really pricey! Now I know exactly when the show comes on every day, and I'm really pumped that TBS ! devotes two hours of daily programming to my favorite show. I've also gotten hooked on some of the other rerun programs they show, like Sex and the City and even 2 1/2 Men. What in the world did I do before I had all this quality programming available to me all the time? As right, I actually went outside and got exercise and hung out with my friends! Oh well, TV is my new best friend now.

This morning, I am so enthusiastic to do things. As I room around and do chores in our house, I usually turned on the christian radio station because I learned so many things by just listening in their messages. They said a lot of things that will help you face challenges in everyday life but there is one thing that sticks in my head that serves as my inspiration throughout my day today. That is the phrase “if you want to be happy all the time, just count your blessings all the time”. I meditate about it and its true. It is working. You will find that you are blessed, happy, contented and at peace with everything. Being able to breath well, walk, talk and move freely is more than enough to be happy and thank for in life… so count your blessings all the time.

Living your Dreams

If you notice, we want more…and want a lot for ourselves. We want more money, want to have a bigger and luxurious house, want to have elegant cars, want to have expensive things in most of everything. On my side, there is no problem with that at all specially if we have the capability to have fancy things in life. We deserve to live what we deserve to live. We work for it and it is a kind of gift living happy and fulfilled.

Now that we have everything in life… the wealth, health and happiness, we have to protect it. We have to protect our wealth just like the way we protect our health. It is important because we worked hard so much to earn what we have. It is not just a one night success but a long haul. With that, we have to safeguard what we established.

Establishing a foundation takes a lot of time, money and effort but for the stealers who want to steal what we put together can walk off with it overnight. Yes, it is disappointing but that’s the reality. You have to find ways protecting your established home and fortune.

If you have the chance to show your love and care for your parents personally do it as always as you can. Why? Because you are lucky to have them with you right now… that you can touch them, talk to them, see them, hear them…feel them on your side. When your parents are very far like in my situation right now, I don’t have those kind of opportunities and it made me sad. All I have are all wishes that they are with me right now to spend time with…strolling together in Mahoney Park or in Omaha Doorly Zoo…anywhere or just with me by my side. I am missing terribly those happy moments we’re together in the mountain…and in the beach…in the church…in our home. Right now, yes, we have technologies that can help alleviate our longingness to see them but having them with you in your side is more than anything. I love them greatly. I thanked them for raising me the way they did. I greatly commend them on that because I grew up knowing God and it all that matters to experience real peace, joy, love and contentment in this world. In situations like I have right now, far from my parents, all I can do is sending personalized mothers day gifts for my mother. This way, we let them know that we love and care for them.

I need to exercise!

When I arrived here in US, I am happy to be able to continue the things I like doing back in our place. That was being able to exercise three times or more in a week. I did that religiously since our house is near to a beautiful park that you can walk, jog or bike and just enjoy the surroundings…trees, green grass, birds singing, squirrel playing, rabbit eating and running around and lots of other enjoying moments with nature. I did my exercise routine religiously for about two years but because of work, I started to get lazy. Well, I need to start that habit again to be healthy and maybe it is a good idea too to encourage my husband to have a long walk once in awhile. We love strolling in the country side but he drove while we stroll…well, we both love the joy of the ride if that is what you call it. Anyway before, I thought, exercise/workout is good enough then I was informed about this pre workout supplements. I do not have an idea if it is working but you can try.

Winter Campout

My husband and I, love camping. Actually, we just had our winter camping last February 25-27. It was not my first time because the other year 2010, we went out camping too while Lincoln, Nebraska was experiencing snow storm. The ground had 6 to 7 inches of snow but we shoveled the ground first before placing our tents. This year, we experienced the same… there was snow on the ground and still snowing too but it seems I get used to it. Like the other kids, I enjoyed too… the white …snowy…cold…well, not cold because I am bundled up with my winter gear. Well, we had a fire pit…our most favorite place during campout…could be spring campout, fall or summer campout…we love it much.

My prayer for the victims of the 8.9 magnitude earthquake and stunami in Japan

My heart goes out to the people of Japan who were affected by the 8.9 magnitude earthquake followed by tsunami last Friday afternoon, March 11, 2010. Seeing the devastating effect through videos and pictures just breaks my heart. My prayer for the Japanese people who were directly affected by this tragic event, is that they will find refuge and comfort in these very difficult times of their lives. I know it is difficult to understand and painful to bear but I believe that there will be a smooth road ahead after the curve sections that they are going through right now. I pray that you will find that straight and smooth road soon and quick.

To all the people who has the capacity to help and are helping right now starting from the government and private entities all over the world, to our medical teams/rescue teams, militaries, red cross staffs, religious organizations, volunteers and the like, I pray for your safety that you can help and save more lives. I salute you for your effort in giving your best to help others that are in need.

If you want to help through financial, red cross and other organizations have a system to accept such. Let us continue to include the victims in our prayers.

My application

Lately, I am cramming to put together all my legal documents to be submitted in USCIS. Well, I shouldn’t because I still have 1 more month before the deadline…but I am just critical too like my husband. Anyway, We are applying for taking out the conditions as Resident here in US and they requested legal documents to be passed. I have all those but of course it is good to be on time. Things that they need are legal documents showing that I am truthfully married to my husband. Of course we are and we are proud to say that we are happily married. Life Insurance was one of the documents I included with my husband as beneficiary. This was the very first thing that my husband provided me when I arrived here to be free from any worries and uncertainties. My knowledge in life insurance is not that wide…I mean as to other companies specially with the rates they offer and maybe it is a good idea of checking the whole life insurance rates.

Being new here in US, I have a lot of things to learn because I grew up in a place where many of the things are opposite of what they have here. I can understand English…I am not sure if I can speak fluently like a natural American citizen… I am trying to and that is the one I am learning everyday through everyday acquaintances with American people. I have a development though I can say and I hope will continue.

Aside from the English language, I have to learn about the US money specially the little ones. I had fun experience learning the us coins, well…not sure if that is how you call it here but in our place, we call ours as coins. But anyway, that is what I meant…the 25 cents, 10 cents, 5 cents and 1 cent. I took time before it sank in to my brain familiarizing their sizes and the faces. Well, I finally did it.

The first place that I was able to visit and had a vacation here in US, was Branson, MO. That was year 2008, month of July and dates 7 till throughout the whole week. Got a hint? Well…the 6th was our wedding day and next of course was the honeymoon! That is the reason why Branson is so memorable to us because right after our wedding here in Lincoln, Nebraska, we went over there and spent our one of our happiest days of our lives. It was worth travelling in that place. There’s many attractions for tourists. One of the places we went was the Silver Dollar City and you will love being in there….we had fun, fun and fun experience. It is not that expensive to go there, you can get a Branson vacation packages that is pocket friendly. Get a lot of pictures!

Communion Memories

One of the best moments in my life was being able to witness a communion. That was college years when a close friend of mine sent me a communion invitations to their son. I am not a Catholic and since I am new to this kind of ceremony I became very observant of how they celebrate it. Like in my faith, they celebrate it very sacred, touching and very solemn…this is in my place where I grew up anyway. After the short ceremony in the church, I joined their feast full of different kinds of foods . This was the time that I was able to mingle with my other friends.

Talking about “very picky” when it comes to shoes, that’s my husband. The last time we bought shoes for him, we visited 5 shoes stores here in Lincoln just to find the best shoes he likes. At first, It seems “not cool” roaming around with him to find that very special shoes of him but I stopped, trying to understand him and it make sense. Having that very comfortable feeling and support that you will get from the shoes will give you more joyful delight while working long hours in a day. Medical Field

To take Nursing Assistant course was the last decision my friend and I came about. It will be this May and hopefully, we can have the schedule soon. We are still waiting for the final schedule but we contacted the hospital already that we are going to register in. This is just a trial stage for us if we want to pursue Nursing course in the future. If we enjoy the course and the job training, the possibility of taking the Nursing course is greater. Let us see. For now, we are focused on that plan to finish it and have a job as a Nursing Assistant.

Why we like that course? To be a registered Nurse is the one I am interested in, I do not know to my friend but to me, that is what I want. I have an Accounting Degree but it seems, it is not working for me. Then one day, I was moved and touched by these two lovely ladies working as Nurses at Saint Elizabeth Regional Medical Center here in Lincoln, in Pediatric/Delivery Department. Their services were beyond the compensation they are receiving. They care so much that I felt I am loved and well taken cared of. By staying there for almost three days, I saw myself being one of them in the future doing the same for people who need care. But, to be sure that I will like the job, taking the Nursing Assistant Course is the best way to do.

Momentarily, my friend and I are on our way. We do not know what the future holds but having plans are good right now. We know we need many things in our classes and one of those is the nursing uniforms . I am not sure if that is how you call it, a friend of mine said yes…and so I tried searching in the internet.

Q. Where did the Ten Commandments come from?

"And he gave unto Moses ... two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God" (Exodus 31:18).
"And the tables were the work of God, and the writing was the writing of God, graven upon the tables" (Exodus 32:16).
Answer: The God of heaven wrote the Ten Commandments on tables of stone with His own finger, and gave them to Moses to deliver to Israel.

Q. Why did God give us the Ten Commandments?

"He that keepeth the law, happy is he" (Proverbs 29:18).
"Keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee" (Proverbs 3:1, 2).
Answer: There are several reasons God introduced His law to mankind. One is for our happiness. That's right! Keeping His law promotes peace and joy in our lives.

Q. Do I have to keep God's commandments today?

"For sin [breaking God's law, 1 John 3:4] shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin [break the law], because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid" (Romans 6:14, 15).
"Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law" (Romans 3:31).
Answer: According to the Bible, Christians today are obligated to keep the Ten Commandments—not as a means of saving them, for they are saved by grace through the sacrifice of Jesus—but to promote the peace and joy God desires for all His children.

Grace is like the governor's pardon to a prisoner. It forgives him, but it does not give him freedom to break one single law on the statute books. The forgiven person, living under grace, is under double obligation to keep the law. A person who refuses to keep God's law, saying that he is living under grace, is mistaken. He is living under disgrace.

Q. Is it even possible to keep God's commandments?

"I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts" (Hebrews 8:10).
"I can do all things through Christ" (Philippians 4:13).
"God sending his own Son ... That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us" (Romans 8:3, 4).

When I was at the age of 13, I was able to manage my time and balance it well. During my high school life, I don't give much time in watching entertainment shows in television. That was because I was occupied with school assignments, church activities and household chores as well. My hobbies during those times are biking, studying, playing piano/guitar and singing. I'm also fond of going to other places traveling to the other islands of the Philippines. The most memorable place that I've been was Boracay. Boracay is one of the beautiful places in the Philippines and so it is sought by many of the tourists to enjoy its captivating beauty. I really enjoy the place because of its magnificent and perfect scenery specially during sunsets.

Going back to my schooling in high school I'm really fond of joining the extra-curricular activities in school especially the religious activities like joining the chorale group and the outreach group. It was so memorable not only because I met and had many friends but also I learned and knew God deeply. There are times that I am compared to my older brothers because of what they want to do and what they want to learn. My older brother Lawrence is fond of watching cox cable sports . We are not alike from each other but we have the same friends that we want. We want to have friends that will not let us down and will help us out in problems that are coming in our way. The very same thing that we want to do to our friends.

My brother is a type of student who gives much effort to get good grades. All he want is to do the right thing and he knows he can do it. He knows himself and we know him too. In our family I am the most observant because I want to know the real attitudes of my friends and relatives much more with my family. Even though we are different in some other ways, we know that happiness is the most important of all.

Today, since most of the family enjoy being together, we get sunday ticket to watch football games. My father loves it so much. Her laugh became a music to my ear and it is just lovely to watch him enjoy the games.

Technology nowadays are just so surprising and incredible that it gives you joy and entertainment. Cable sports is one of course. It is so fascinating to watch. It feels like as if you are part of the audience applauding for the players you admire.

Determining the Will of God

In 1692, the city of Port Royal, Jamaica, literally slid into the sea when it was struck by a massive earthquake. Many had predicted that this corrupt city of pirates and cutthroats would one day suffer God’s judgment. Therefore, the disaster surprised no one, least of all the handful of religious men who were swept to their doom along with the wicked. One such man was Lewis Galdy, who was born in France but left for the New World in search of religious freedom. When the first violent shock came, Galdy was buried deep beneath the earth. Amazingly, he remained conscious and understood what had happened. He resigned himself to the will of God. But much like Jonah in the belly of the sea monster, a few moments later, the ground shook a second time and exploded, throwing Galdy flying high through the air and out over the churning sea. He landed unhurt in the water and swam until a boat picked him up. Galdy lived for 47 years after his miraculous escape. He died in 1739 and today his tombstone still tells the story of his amazing experience.
The safest place in the world to be is in the middle of God’s will.
It doesn’t matter if you are surrounded by war, typhoons, tornadoes, volcanoes, or earthquakes; if you’re in the middle of God’s will, you have nothing to worry about. The Bible says, “The world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever” (1 John 2:17 NKJV). If you are following God’s will, you have eternal life.

We were made by God and for God, and until you figure that out, life isn't going to make sense.
Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you're just coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into another one.
The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort; God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy.

We can be reasonably happy here on earth, but that's not the goal of life.. The goal is to grow in character, in Christ likeness.
This past year has been the greatest year of my life but also the toughest, with my wife, Kay, getting cancer.
I used to think that life was hills and valleys - you go through a dark time, then you go to the mountaintop, back and forth. I don't believe that anymore.

Rather than life being hills and valleys, I believe that it's kind of like two rails on a railroad track, and at all times you have something good and something bad in your life.
No matter how good things are in your life, there is always something bad that needs to be worked on.
And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always something good you can thank God for.
You can focus on your purposes, or you can focus on your problems:
If you focus on your problems, you're going into self-centeredness, which is my problem, my issues, my pain..' But one of the easiest ways to get rid of pain is to get your focus off yourself and onto God and others.

We discovered quickly that in spite of the prayers of hundreds of thousands of people, God was not going to heal Kay or make it easy for her- It has been very difficult for her, and yet God has strengthened her character, given her a ministry of helping other people, given her a testimony, drawn her closer to Him and to people.

You have to learn to deal with both the good and the bad of life.
Actually, sometimes learning to deal with the good is harder. For instance, this past year, all of a sudden, when the book sold 15 million copies, it made me instantly very wealthy.
It also brought a lot of notoriety that I had never had to deal with before. I don't think God gives you money or notoriety for your own ego or for you to live a life of ease.

So I began to ask God what He wanted me to do with this money, notoriety and influence. He gave me two different passages that helped me decide what to do, II Corinthians 9 and Psalm 72.
First, in spite of all the money coming in, we would not change our lifestyle one bit.. We made no major purchases.
Second, about midway through last year, I stopped taking a salary from the church.

Third, we set up foundations to fund an initiative we call The Peace Plan to plant churches, equip leaders, assist the poor, care for the sick, and educate the next generation.

Fourth, I added up all that the church had paid me in the 24 years since I started the church, and I gave it all back. It was liberating to be able to serve God for free.

We need to ask ourselves: Am I going to live for possessions? Popularity?
Am I going to be driven by pressures? Guilt? Bitterness? Materialism? Or am I going to be driven by God's purposes (for my life)?

When I get up in the morning, I sit on the side of my bed and say, God, if I don't get anything else done today, I want to know You more and love You better. God didn't put me on earth just to fulfill a to-do list. He's more interested in what I am than what I do.
That's why we're called human beings, not human doings.

Of course the happiest and the best of all is the blessing and the gift through our baby. From then on, our lives, me and my husband became more colorful, happier and best. We are excited everyday to se her. So much excited to hold her in our hands and to whisper to her that we love her very much.

She is indeed a blessing and an angel to us. We are working hard and doing our best for her and so we pray that she will grow strong and healthy, be a service to God, be succesful in life and more...We will be here for her all our lives...

I just learned from my sister the bad news about their unforgettable experience with typhoon Ondoy. Its really their first time to deal with this kind of tragedy. Family Reunion

Where here right now at my mother-in-laws house with the whole family. For the past week, the family are busy and having fun. Majority of the family joined the South Dakota trip as part of the family reunion and right now, we are enjoying the tourist spots here in Lincoln. One of the families went home to Florida already and the other one will go home tomorrow at New Mexico. It feels great to meet them all and spend time with them. Yesterday, we went to Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo. We spent the whole day there. In dinner time, we ate in our house with the whole family. My husband was tired in preparing food but he was so happy to see them all together in our house.

I can't stop myself talking about flowers lately because it took so much of my time just thinking about it. I don't know. There is a lot of ideas coming in my mind about it. My Hidden Talent

Back in our country, the Philippines, I am used of helping couples who are about to be wed in their wedding ceremony. It could be through the wedding program or through the flower arrangements/designs. Since flower arranging/designing seems to be innate to me, working long hours with flowers seem just a minute to me. I enjoyed so much that I didnt notice the time. Honestly, I do not have a formal training on flower arranging but my creation are so unique and personal that they love and appreciate it so much. In our country, particularly in our church, my talent or shall we call it a skill, is not hidded to them. That is why in every wedding occasion, they call for my help.

I consider it as one of my personal ministries in helping people through my talent. I did not accept fee and I am very happy about it. I felt that the more I become creative and skillful on that part, reason that I am inspired and willing to help them more. I sometimes worked 24 hours continuous just to make everything perfect from wedding bouquets (bride, bridesmaid, maid of honor, mother), corsages, buttonaires, isle flowers, table flowers, pulpit flowers...everything.

It feels great considering the fact that we live in a tropical place because flowers are not difficult to find. That is one that I like the most and so I had the priviledge of arranging fresh flowers.

The time here is 9:02 a.m. I just have done talking through internet with my sister Glen and my nephew AA. I miss them so much. Thanks to computer advancements. Back in my homecountry in the Philippines, i was a member of our church choir. I am happy and enjoying serving God through singing. I used to sing in the pulpit solo or with my friends and family. I miss those moments. I treasured it so much in my heart. Now, i still can sing but not in the church yet. If we have a special program in Home for the aged, I share Gods message through singing.

I am excited and happy to say that we are planning to form a Filipino singing group. It will be a trio with Ate Melfa and Ate Ferlie. They are great singers but right now, Ate Ferlie is still busy with her thesis. Maybe after that, we can sit down and learn songs for music ministry. My husband and I are worried about the fishes in our fish tank. We don't have any clue why the fishes are dying. Just the other week, my husband bought 10 small fishes in it coz the old ones died already so we replaced a new one. But right now, out of 10, we just have one left. Well, we have janitor fish and those are the ones who survived. There is really a problem and we hope we know. My husband is telling me that maybe I overfed them or if not, the leftover food is the reason for that. We notice that the pebbles as well as the rocks and the other stuffs are changing color...they become rusty. My husband said that there is a cleaner for that which made me happy. Yesterday, I was so very happy because my sister-in-law called unexpected. She invited me to go with them in their vacation to South Dakota. It is a one week vacation with the siblings of my husband. I feel so blessed and happy today because of a very special reason...I was able to talk to one of my bestfriends . His name is Raymund Louie Rapadas now living and working in Saudi Arabia. I am glad that we had a blissful and enjoying moments when we were together, more than enough to make my day bright when I remember meaningful days in the Philippines.

I met him while working at the Intellectual Property Office in year 1999 month of July. I remembered, I started working one week ahead of him but since we were both in Accounting department, we became close friends. He was my witness to every failures and successes in life I had…and I will say that I became his witness too in his progress and career development in life. At first, there was situation that was confusing about him but thankfully that he made it cleared about it and with that, I understand him more.

I admire him in many ways. He is indeed a true friend and he proved that many times to me. Sometimes, we differed in beliefs, methodology and approach in life but the respect , appreciation and consideration being a friend binded us together. Being honest with one another to situations beating us down make us way to help eachother more in facing difficulties and challenges.

I remember that in m y life, I made wrong decisions…wrong decisions . With care and concern, he was there fervently and frankly expressing his thoughts . If he thinks that I am wrong, then I am wrong and he will insist it letting me know that I am very wrong. With these, I had the chance of reevaluating things and make it right. Sometimes, I am hardheaded that it took long period of time for me to realize his food for thoughts. It feels funny to remember those things now because I became stubborn many times and with those situations, he straightened me up many times too.

I am very thankful to him. He stayed by me in happy and tearful moments. He became my light when the sun is nowhere to be found. I am very proud of my friend.

More about him, he is very successful in his career now. He has a stable big earning job somewhere in Saudi Arabia. He said that this December, he is planning to have a vacation in the Philippines. I just hope and pray that one day, we will meet again together with my dear friends in the Intellectual Property Philippines. I Love and miss you my friend.

I just finished watching the trailer of the movie Lemon Tree and I find it so interesting. It was produced outstandingly and for sure will captivate and touch the hearts of the people. After seeing it, I invited my husband to see the trailer once again and he finds it so amazing. We don’t know of where we can get a copy of the Lemon tree, we don’t have an idea of when it was made but one thing we are sure we will going to get a copy of it. It was heartbreaking but impressive. Finally, after failing three times, I passed and got my Drivers License. Thanks to my Mother-in-Law. She was the one who inspired me and pushed me to be able to have the Drivers License. It was not easy actually. Everytime, I was tested, I felt so nervous. Things are just different here in US but I appreciate it a lot.

The the other day, It was Friday when I went out of the house driving alone. I will never forget the feeling. I felt nervous but I believe it was a normal feeling for every first timer. My first Birthday Celebration here in US!

Like most of the people, I am always excited with the first time events. And since I am new here in US, almost everything are so exciting and I am happy and curious to know. I shared to you some and I decided to share to you too my birthday...how it went and how I was surprised.

Well, few days before my birthday, I am telling my husband that I am very happy even we will not go out anymore to eat in a fine restaurant or go out for fun. In that way, we can save money. He is a very loving and responsible husband and thats a special gift more than enough for me.

Then my birthday came. My husband greeted me early morning a happy bday and that was so special to me. He bought flowers for me and of course a musical card. My friend Maemae arrived at home and we baked Cassava Cake, a Filipino food and do some other stuffs the whole day. It was a happy day. When my husband arrived from work, he told me to go somewhere...and then in the end, i noticed we're on our way to his parents house. I was surprised that every member of the family were there and they greeted me a HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I was touched so much touched specially so that the food they prepared were all Asian Food. They made a special cake for me too with 32 candles. I realized I am old now because of those candles...they're many and it took me three attempts before I blew it all...

One of the special special and touching moments was when Mom gave a special prayer for me and she said to God that they were all happy as a family that God sent me to be part of their family. I felt so special on that night. I thanked God too for having them in my life. They are my new family here...so much loving and caring. Most of all, I thank God for giving me a husband so thoughtful, loving and responsible.

After 6 years of marriage of my sister, God gave them a precious gift, a very handsome and cute boy named Cherub Kranz , his four years old now. I saw their disappointment every time their work-ups failed, but with prayers here comes CK. All of us in the house were very happy that we really feel the importance of the baby. I was part of his growing up from day one to 4 years old especially when he got sick. When I got home from office, I make sure I had pack of diapers because the baby is always wet and we kept on changing to avoid rashes as well as to make the baby comfortable. At night he cried and cried and sometimes, I woke up and take care of him allowing my sister to have a nap. We have no choice at daytime; he was at nanny’s custody because all of us in the house were working nevertheless making sure to be at home early before he slept at night. First year was very hard for all of us in the house; we’re all awake at night. When he was two years old, it’s getting harder especially when he started walking. He became bigger and heavier that sometimes I cannot lift him up. My sister did not able to buy stroller believing that the baby would become closer and closer every time his in our arms; and I think she’s right, becase he is very sweet and much attached to us. Every year consumptions grow bigger too and budget is always at stake. But they manage to survive by adopting the cost cutting scheme. No outdoor activities, no outside dinner and many other personal sacrifices just for baby’s needs. No regrets because as early as he learned to talk, he started to sing and even created a sound of his own. He is four years old now and singing at the pulpit with minus one is his favorite. It really pays the effort of his parents during pregnancy - engaging in singing activities and listening to music while sleeping. I don’t know if my sisters’ ideas were right maybe it’s an instinct or learned from the experiences of others. I just wish that she learned the parenting . I’m very sure that she will benefit more specially on growing up toddlers. No more superstitious belief, no more experiment but real advices from the experts.

Area Camporee in Kansas

Today, I mostly spending my time preparing things for our Area Camporee in Kansas. We will be leaving tomorrow at exactly 9:00 in the morning plus tonight, we will be shopping for camping needs so I have to finish packing before noon. I forgot my camera card in my last camping and so this time, I really have to make sure that I have everything...hehehehe...Kansas is about 3 to 4 hours away from here and I am excited. I don't know yet of what group I will be handling...I wish its the Friends group but its fine with me if it will be the Ranger girls again. I enjoyed being with them though sometimes...specially during sleeping time, they had difficulty in making themselves behave...they want to talk and talk and have fun...I like that but its sleeeping time already so they have to respect others that are already sleeping. My Spring Camping Preparation

I am excited with the Spring Camping because I wasn't able to join them in Winter Campout. I wish I was able to but i really cant bear the cold and so I just waited this spring to be able to join them. I prepared and packed our things ahead of time and so I am thinking that I am very ready and I will not forget things. My husband has a different bag of his own and so I am figuring it out that I am not missing anything. Everything went fine...we arrived the camping site a bit late coz my husband has to take a shower first after work but situations did favor us. I met my group and had fun with the kids. One thing that I am making sure in activities like this is to bring a camera with me and yes i have it but when I am about to take pictures, my camera card was not in it. I left it at my laptop. I can use the internal memory of it but it was full and i dont want to erase it and so I felt sad. I talked to my husband and he just said, well...thats nice. He just gave me a hug and said just bring it next time. So maybe I will just have a copy of the pictures taken by some of my friends.

Spring Camping

We just had a Spring Camping in the Woodland Acre. It started last Friday and it ends yesterday. For all the campouts that I have attended with, the last one was the best and the camping that I enjoyed very much. It rained the first evening but it went fine the next day. I was the counselor of the Ranger girls and I stayed in their tent the whole camping activities. One of the reasons why I like the camping very much was that the kids are the one who prepared their own food...breakfast, lunch and supper and it was amazing to see them working.

I thought, at first, the ladies will not like me as their counselor but i guess in the end they appreciate my presence. I dont know them much becuase I am always with Friends group but I am thankful that I have that ample time of knowing them. I enjoyed sharing happy moments with them and hopefully that will be a beginning of a good friendly relationship.

Yesterday, a family friend of ours invited us to attend the couples workshop that will be held here in Lincoln for three consecutive days. At first, we are not interested because we usually spent the weekend resting but since our family friend insisted, maybe we will consider of going. I hope my friend Michelle will go.

Anyways, Michelle, Wayne her husband, me and Monte overstayed in the church coz it seems our talk is never ending. I am happy though to have a friend like them. I hope they will not change.

My nephews and nieces are the people so dear to me that I really miss at this point. I miss them so badly specially my nephew CK. I wish I am with them now.
I am so thankful that when I have time spending with them in the Philippines, I spent it with them in the best that I can. Last night we slept so late in the evening already...actually early morning at about 3in the morning because we prepared the lunch food of Pathfinders. This whole day we went to Omaha Zoo to study and earn two honors...the amphibians and the cacti. On Saturday Morning, March 14, we attended the Church Worship in the Rocky Mountain Seventh Day Adventist Church. Part in the afternoon, we witnessed the competition of the Bible Bowl. We have participants from our club, the College View Trailblazer Pathfinders. They came all the way from Lincoln, Nebraska to support and compete the Pathfinder activities. Bible Bowl was participated by many Pathfinder clubs all over midwest including Florida. And were proud to know that our group got the first place in the Bible Bowl competition.

Last Friday, my husband and I and his bestfriend Cris went to Colorado for a weekend vacation. We went to Glacier View Ranch and there I enjoyed so much. The snow capped mountain and the towering rocks were so amazing. In the morning of Saturday, we attended the Sabbath Worship and in the afternoon, we hiked the rocky mountain called the Devil-bath-Tub. The scenes up in the mountain was stunning. I wish I can stay the whole evening in the summit savoring the beauty and wonders of the surroundings. It felt like I am in the Philippines again climbing mountain and enjoying the charm of Gods creation. It took us almost half day in hiking and climbing and it was a wonderful experience specially so that I am with my husband and a dear friend. I wish to be able to go back again coz anywere there is spectacular and breathtaking.

I've been here in US for almost 8 months. A lot of changes happened...my weight, my hairstyle, my perspective in life, my introspection about the place USA...many things. But there is one thing that never change, and that is the longingness to be with my family...to be with parents, siblings, my nephews and nieces. I miss them so much.

My life here in US is comfortable and happy with my husband but the love and bond that I had with my family will always be here in my heart. They are not around but their thoughts and laughter seems just around with me that give more joy and peace in my heart. I just always pray that they are always in good health and in Gods hand.
